Stanley B. Roberts, age 79, of Howard Lake, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Stan had celebrated 20 years as a heart transplant recipient

He was born Aug. 26, 1929, in Minneapolis, to Carl and Helen.

Stanley served his community as a science teacher and librarian at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School for 31 years.

He loved gardening, fishing, and playing clarinet in the Mid-Minnesota band.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Mazie; daughters Colleen (Ray) Draxler, Jean (David) Chavez, and Judy (Dan) Hammer; grandsons Derrick (Leann), Mark, Peter, and Joe; and brother Bill (Irma) Roberts.

Services took place Friday, July 3 at Zion United Methodist Church in South Haven..

Arrangements were by the Swanson Peterson Home in Howard Lake.
