Florence L. Roth, age 90, of Delano, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009.
She was born Dec. 20, 1918, to David and Abbie (Murphy) Sutton in Independence.
Florence attended the Mankato Teachers College, receiving her teacher’s certificate. From college, she started teaching in the rural schools and eventually the Dassel School system.
Upon her marriage to Leonard Roth, Florence became a full-time homemaker.
In the fall of 1973, Florence and Leonard moved to Wadena, MN. After the death of Leonard, Florence returned to Delano in December of 1995.
In addition to her husband, Leonard, Florence was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Timothy Vrchota.
She is survived by her children and spouses: Paul and Diane Roth, Anita and John Branson, Neal and Geri Roth, David Roth and special friend Meredith Low, and Lori Vrchota; seven grandchildren, Trevor, Timothy, Todd, Michael, and Amy Roth, Nikloas and Nathan Vrchota; sister June Sutton; and sisters-in-law Gen Roth and Catherine Murphy.
The funeral service took place Sunday, March 8 at 2:30 p.m. at the Delano United Methodist Church in Delano, with visitation for one hour prior to the services at the church. The Rev. Matthew Sipe officiated, with interment in the Delano Public Cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
