Natalie Susan Roufs, age 26, of Arlington, lost her battle with cancer Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
She was born Jan. 31, 1983, to David and Susan (Painschab) Roufs in Winsted.
Natalie was a 2001 graduate of Sibley East High School. She attended Minneapolis Business College, and then Hutchinson Technical College for nursing.
She was employed as a nurse at Glencoe Regional Health Services. Natalie loved working as a nurse.
She enjoyed camping and spending quality time with her family.
A very upbeat and social person, Natalie always had a smile on her face. She was a huge inspiration to everyone she knew, and she will be greatly missed.
Natalie is survived by her parents, David and Susan Roufs of Waverly; siblings, Eric (fiancée Chris) Roufs of Lakeville, Jarrod (Rae) Roufs of New Market, Tara (Troy) Breyer of Shakopee, Jessica (fiancé Marcus) Roufs of Shakopee, and Dominic (Alicia) Roufs of Slater, IA; her fiancé, Adam Gieseke of Arlington; nieces and nephews, Selena, Lauren, Rachel, Ava, Liam, Grayson, Gillian, Braden, Herbie, Alex, and Austin; future in-laws, Larry and Jan Gieseke of Arlington; future brothers-in-law, Aaron (Jen) Gieseke of Arlington, and Andrew (Janelle) Gieseke of St. Paul; and many aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arnold and Mary Painschab, and Herbert and Helen Roufs; and a cousin, Darrin Painschab.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, Aug. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Arlington with Fr. Jerry Paulson officiating. Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waverly.
Visitation was Wednesday, Aug. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church, and continued Thursday one hour prior to the Mass.
Arrangements were with Kolden Funeral Services in Arlington.
