Ryan J. Samuelson Obituary – 06/10/09


Ryan J. Samuelson, age 18, of Carver, died as the result of an accident Wednesday June 10, 2009.

He was born April 15, 1991, in Waconia, the son of David and Becky (Schmitz) Samuelson. Ryan was baptized and confirmed at West Union Lutheran Church in Carver.

Ryan loved hanging out with his family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed his job at the Waconia Farm Supply.

Ryan’s pride and joy was his “95” Chevy pickup truck. Some activities he enjoyed were putting together puzzles and models, fishing, and helping out on the farm. He was fascinated with horror movies, and was a 4-H member.

Ryan treasured driving and riding antique tractors. He loved to watch NASCAR racing, his favorite driver being Kasey Kahne.

Very active with the youth group at West Union Lutheran Church, Ryan always helped anybody out who needed it. He will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Samuelson; grandmother Verena Schmitz; and his great-grandparents.

Ryan is survived by his loving family: his father, David Samuelson and special friend Maria Bruins of Carver; mother Becky Samuelson and special friend Myron Brahee; and brothers Bob Samuelson and special friend Denise Hunter, and Nick Samuelson and special friend Alysia Smith.

He is further survived by other special family members: Elly Jaspers, William, Hannah Bruins, Chad, Amber and Tyler Brahee; his grandmother, Barbara Samuelson of Carver; grandfather LeRoy Schmitz of New Prague; uncles; aunts; cousins; and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service took place Tuesday, June 16 at 11 a.m. at the West Union Lutheran Church in Carver with the Rev. David Knox officiating. Interment was in West Union Lutheran Cemetery.

Urn bearers were Ryan’s brothers, Bob Samuelson and Nick Samuelson.
