Raymond Frank Schermann, age 59, of Hutchinson, and formerly of Winsted, died Friday, Oct. 30 in Hutchinson.
Raymond was born March 30, 1950, to Edward and Anastasia (Gritz) Schermann in Cokato.
He was baptized into his faith at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted.
Raymond attended Holy Trinity School through the eighth grade. After that, he worked on various farms, mowed lawns, split wood, and helped people whenever he could.
Raymond enjoyed visiting family, neighbors, and friends. His hobbies included collecting small decks of cards, padlocks, miniature John Deere tractors, and miniature cars and trucks. He enjoyed listening to music and watching TV.
A quiet, gentle man, Raymond dealt with various health issues as they occurred. When he was unable to care for himself, he moved to Burns Manor Nursing Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Anastasia Schermann; a baby sister, Rita Ann; grandparents Frank and Mary Schermann and Martin and Anna Gritz; and many aunts and uncles.
Raymond is survived by brothers Marty (Janice) Schermann, Dean Schermann, and Tom (Connie) Schermann; sisters Elaine Schermann and Emily Schermann; a nephew and four nieces; and one grand nephew and four grand nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Monday, Nov. 2 at 10:30 a.m at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted with Father Tony Hesse as the celebrant. Alice Nowak was the organist for the Mass. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday, Nov. 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Casket bearers were Paul Schermann, Jeremy Cardinal, Matt Bogema, Tim Koshenina, Mark Schermann, and Donald Fasching.
Memorials may be made to the HAHC Senior Care Building Fund.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
