Leonard L. Schlosser Obituary – 9/13/09


Leonard L. “Junior” Schlosser, age 87, of Loretto, died peacefully at home Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009.

He was born Aug. 20, 1922, to Leonard and Marie (Billodeau) Schlosser in Loretto.

A dairy farmer his whole life, Junior was an active Grade A Dairy farmer and was heavily involved in NFO.

He was an avid ice fisherman. Junior was proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was also a dog lover, especially Dolly and Baby.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Marie; a brother, Ralph Schlosser; nephew Mark Schlosser; brothers-in-law Leo Leuer and Leroy Dehmer; and a grandson, Jared Schlosser.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bernice (Doboszenski); sons Duane and Karen Schlosser, Joe Schlosser, Jerome and Rita Schlosser, Vernon and Cheryl Schlosser, Dale and Jennifer Schlosser, Lee and Paula Schlosser, Myron and Rewa Schlosser, and Tom Schlosser; daughters Bernadette and John Grenzer, Jean Schlosser and Ernie Mayers, Julie and Mike Windsperger, Donna and Jim Russell, and Betty Korthof; 25 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters Lorraine Leuer, and Renee and Wallace Barthel; and sister-in-law Gladys Schlosser.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, Sept. 17 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto with the Rev. John Gallas officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Casket bearers were Junior’s grandsons: Ben Grenzer, David Schlosser, Clayton Schlosser, Ryan Russell, Zebulon Mayers, Tyler Russell, Michael Windsperger Jr, Dan Korthof, and Shawn Schlosser.

Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
