Austin J. Shimon Obituary – 5/23/09


Austin John Shimon, age 20, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 23, 2009, due to a motorcycle accident.

He was born April 19, 1989.

Austin had just completed his second year at UW-Stout in Menomonie, WI.

He attended kindergarten through ninth grade at Altoona schools in Altoona, WI, 10th grade at Hopkinsville High School in Hopkinsville, KY, and 11th and 12th grades at Delano High School in Delano.

Austin loved music, writing song lyrics, hanging out with friends, dancing, motorcycle riding, and sports.

He is survived by his parents, Janell and Brad Anderson of Hopkinsville, KY, and Brock and Lois Shimon of Corcoran, MN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joshua (Jamie) Shimon of Osseo, WI, and Spencer (Amber) Shimon of Clarksville, TN; stepsisters Holly Anderson and Haley Petersen Anderson, and stepbrother Justin Anderson, all from Kentucky; niece and nephews, Torri and Brice Shimon of Osseo, WI, and Prestyn Shimon of Clarksville, TN; grandparents Harold and Reda Thorson of Barron, WI, John and Gail Shimon of Cameron, WI, and Billy and Mimi Anderson of Hopkinsville, KY; aunts Julie (Jim) Stock, Lisa (Kurt) Kundel, Kennerae Shimon, and Heather (Darren) Koepp; cousins Bradley Strandlund, Sara Strandlund, Holy Kundel, Laura Kundel, Maranda (Joe) Chaplin, Mallery Koepp, Brooke (Doug) Porter, and Devin (Steve) Otto; and many friends.

A memorial service took place Tuesday, May 26 at Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron, WI.

The funeral service was Wednesday, May 27 at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Barron, WI, with visitation for one hour prior to the service.
