Lorraine M. Uecker Obituary – 06/14/09


Lorraine M. Uecker, age 80, of Annandale, formerly of Buffalo and Brooklyn Center, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 14, 2009.

She was born Aug. 29, 1928, to Edward and Martha (Strohschein) Lampert. Pastor Alfred Streufert baptized Lorraine Sept. 30, 1928, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Annandale. She was confirmed May 17, 1947, at the same church by Pastor J.H. Klaesmeier.

Lorraine graduated from Buffalo High School in 1946.

She married Harold Uecker at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Aug. 31, 1947 and God blessed their marriage with three children.

Lorraine and Harold moved to Minneapolis in 1953, and to Brooklyn Center in 1962.

In 1991, when Lorraine retired after 10 years as a court clerk at the Hennepin County District Court, they moved to Buffalo.

Harold and Lorraine spent many wonderful winters in Arizona after retirement. They moved to Annandale in 2005. Lorraine was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale, a wonderful homemaker and pre-school teacher, and a member of the Buffalo Legion Auxiliary Post 270.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, traveling, singing, dancing, family, and friends. Most of all Lorraine was a great wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be truly missed by all.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Harold A. Uecker; children Charlotte (Richard) Loveland of Cosmos, Les (Chell) Uecker of Coto De Caza, CA, and Lyle (Vicki) Uecker of Dassel; and grandchildren Troy Loveland (fiancée Abby Anderson), Ashley Uecker (fiancé Peter Philippi), and Phillip Uecker.

She is further survived by sisters-in-law Irma Uecker, Gladys Goerke, Marion Oswald, and Carol Boltz; a brother, David Allen; brothers-in-law, Ted Goerke and Jacob Oswald; nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Albert Boltz; brothers-in-law Vernon Uecker, Marvin Uecker, and Eldon Uecker; sisters Eleanor Gunther, Bernice Pesis, and Beth Boltz; sisters-in-law Pearl Uecker and Lillian Uecker; and brothers-in-law August Gunther and Ralph Boltz.

The funeral service took place Wednesday, June 17 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Middleville Township (rural Annandale) with Pastor Thomas Queck as the officiant. Interment was at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Visitation was Tuesday, June 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor Thomas Queck officiating the prayer service.

The pallbearers for the service were John Uecker, Barry Uecker, Troy Loveland, Phillip Uecker, Peter Philippi, and Larry Boltz. The honorary pallbearers were Abby Anderson, August Klein, and Ashley Uecker.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Research Center in St. Paul, MN or the Allina Hospice Foundation.

The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo served the family.
