Dorothy Lucille (Murphy) Wessman, age 88, of Hopkins, formerly of Minnetonka, died recently after a long illness.
Dorothy graduated from Dassel High School in 1939.
She married Quentin Wessman in Dassel in 1940.
A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Dorothy along with her husband, Quentin, enjoyed retirement homes in Hackensack, Mesa, AZ; and Minnetonka.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Regina Murphy; brother Edward “Tim” Murphy; nephew John Murphy; and grand nephew Benjamin Murphy.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 68 years, Quentin; a son, Fred; and a daughter, Susan, both of Minneapolis; a grandson, Bradley (Stacey) of Wilmington, NC; a granddaughter, Amy of Denver, CO; nephews Tom Murphy and Eddie (Nan) Murphy of Minneapolis; Mark (Janie) Murphy of Austin, TX; and Kevin (Margaret) Murphy of Kansas City, MO; and a grand niece, Kate, also of Kansas City.
Funeral services took place Friday, Jan. 2 in Minneapolis, with interment at Fort Snelling.
Memorials preferred to Methodist Hospital Hospice or American Heart Association.
