Glenna Esther Blake, age 87, of Buffalo, formerly of Albertville, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at the Parkview Care Center in Buffalo.
She was born July 14, 1923, in Maple Plain, the daughter of Otto and Louise (Lumbrecht) Ketcher. As a small child, Glenna’s family moved to Annandale, where she attended school.
Glenna was united in marriage to Vernon Matthew Blake Jan. 27, 1943, at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. The couple lived in Buffalo a few years before settling in Albertville in 1953.
For the past three years, Glenna has been a resident of Parkview Care Center in Buffalo.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, old time polka music, and cane pole fishing. She also really enjoyed spending time with her pet kitten, “White Paws.”
Glenna is survived by her children: Richard Blake of Isanti, Larry (Bonnie) Blake, Delores (Blake) Borsched, all of Buffalo; Alan (Lois) Blake, Jean (Rodney) Hiller, all of Monticello; Carol (Erv) Albrecht of Cokato, and Steven (Sandy) Blake of Monticello; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Louise Ketcher; husband Vernon Blake Sept. 7, 1965; a brother, Howard; a stepbrother, Wilbert; and a son, Brian.
Funeral services took place Friday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel in St. Michael-Albertville, with visitation for one hour prior to the services. Burial was in St. Albert Catholic Cemetery in Albertville.
