Adeline Marie Carlsten, age 78, of Fridley, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
Adeline was born Feb. 20, 1931, in Winsted, the daughter of Frank and Rose Hertzog Kieser.
She was joined in holy marriage with Robert F. “Bob” Carlsten Sept. 26, 1953, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with a daughter, Barbara.
Adeline was formerly employed at Midwest Federal as a teller, at Gaynor Sales in Plymouth as a personal secretary, and also worked for the athletic director for one year at Fridley High School.
She was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Fridley.
Adeline is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Bashaw of Andover; three grandchildren, Rob, Chris, and Matthew Bashaw; a sister, Elmerine (George “Butch”) Lachermeier; and a brother, Marvin (Viola) Kieser, all of Winsted; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Darlene (Dick) Daly and Carol (Al) Goede, all of Two Harbors; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. “Bob” Carlsten May 18, 1999; her parents, Frank and Rose Kieser; a sister, Sister Gratian Kieser, OSF; and a brother, Vincent Kieser.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, Jan. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, preceded by visitation for one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Father Tony Hesse was the celebrant, and private interment was at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
