Nancy K. (Hartwig) Drew, age 56, of Brooklyn Park, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
She was born Sept. 27, 1954, in Watertown, the daughter of Omar and Viola (Hafemann) Hartwig. Nancy was baptized in October of 1954 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany by the Rev. Henry Weseloh; and confirmed by the same April 6, 1968.
Nancy was united in marriage to Ken Drew May 6, 1978, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany by Rev. Cordes.
Nancy loved being outside, working with her flowers and gardening. She adored her dog, Sadie, who meant the world to her.
Nancy also cherished the time she spent with her family and friends, and enjoyed watching old time television programs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Omar and Viola Hartwig.
Nancy is survived by her loving family; husband Ken; brothers and sisters-in-law Ron and Sue Hartwig, and Lyle and Joanne Hartwig, all of Mayer; father-in-law and mother-in-law Harvey and Elaine Drew of Delano; brother-in-law Steve Drew of St. Michael; uncles, aunts, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service took place Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany with the Rev. LeRoy LaPlant officiating. Interment was at St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation was Tuesday, Oct. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, with a chapel service at 6:30 p.m., and continued Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
Casket bearers were Mike Hartwig, Nick Hartwig, Lottie Roth, Missy Vogelpohl, Rachel Lynch, and Amanda Lynch.
