Joseph Fiecke, Jr., passed away May 14, 2010, at the Franciscan Hospice House at the age of 82. His funeral was Thursday, May 20.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, June 15 at 6 p.m. with Mass at Holy Trinity Church in Winsted, followed by a potluck lunch.
Joe was born Jan. 20, 1928 to Joseph and Anna Fiecke in Carver County, Minn.
In pursuit of a promising job opportunity, Joe moved his young family to Tacoma, WA, in 1962. There, he excelled in his profession as a lead mechanic at Bunce Rental for 35 years.
While retired, Joe enjoyed traveling, gardening, and especially caring for his roses. He was a member of the Eagles, Elks, and Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Surviving are daughters Helen (Steve) Webster and Mary Jo Fiecke; four grandchildren, John (Erin) Webster, Garrett (Brianne) Webster, Justin (Angie) Fiecke, and Jennifer (Christopher) Ecklund; seven great-grandchildren, Natalie, Kenadie, and Trace Webster, Hunter Webster, Talia and Nathaniel Fiecke, and Mikayla Ecklund.
Also surviving are brothers Alphonse (Rose) Fiecke and Francis (Joan) Fiecke; sisters Leona (Albin) Lewandowski and Loretta Thiesen; sisters-in-law Eleanor, Aggie, and Leona Fiecke.
He was preceded in death by his son, John, in 1990 due to multiple bee stings. Also preceding him in death were his parents; brothers Ben, Henry, Clemens, and Eugene Fiecke; sisters Mary Rohling and Agnes Horstmann; brothers-in-law Albert Rohling and John Horstmann, sister-in-law Anne Fiecke; and brother-in-law Raymond Thiesen.
