Hilmer M. Hansen, age 94, of Maple Plain, died Monday, July 19, 2010, at the Elim Home in Watertown.
He was born April 28, 1916, in Grenora, ND, the son of Hans N. and Gertrude M. (Petersen) Hansen. Hilmer was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Hilmer was united in marriage Mildred K. Brudigan Aug. 30, 1940.
Hilmer worked at J.R. Clark in Spring Park.
He enjoyed music and dancing. Hilmer was a very friendly person and loved conversation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; father and mother, Hans and Gertrude Hansen; and brothers and sisters.
Hilmer is survived by his family; sisters-in-law Betty Hansen of California, and Doris Westman of Bloomington; special friends and caregivers Velma and Bob Wolff of Orono; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service took place Thursday, July 22 at 11 a.m. at Lyndale Lutheran Church in Maple Plain with the Rev. Dave Garwick officiating. There was visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment was at Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain.
Casket bearers were David Westman, Rod Wolff, Jim Noreen, Steve Nolan, Russell Simon, and Bruce Varner.
