Gerald H. Herrmann Obituary – 11/15/2010


Gerald H. Herrmann, age 82, of Young America, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at the Elim Home in Watertown.

He was born July 6, 1928, in Bongards, MN, the son of Edward and Anna (Flusemann) Herrmann. Gerald was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bongards.

He was united in marriage to Lois L. Lobitz Nov. 21, 1953, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by the Rev. Robert Heyne.

Gerald enjoyed fishing, playing cards, listening to old-tyme music, and country music, and he loved to eat.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Anna Herrmann; sisters Elaine Parpart, and Shirley Karels; brothers Wesley Herrmann, and Edward Herrmann; and brothers-in-law Ron Lobitz, and Chuck Rudi.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Lois; sister Phyllis Stelton of Chaska; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Sharon Rudi of Benson, and Mary and Gerald Volkenant of Waconia; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service took place Friday, Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia with visitation for one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev. Bob Alsleben officiated, and interment was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Verlyn Rickert, Josh Volkenant, DuWayne Rickert, Steve Parpart, Gary Rickert, and Joe Fick.
