Carl R. Ingebrigtson, age 74, of Delano, died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at the Golden LivingCenter in Delano.
He was born May 11, 1936, in Park Rapids, to Carl S. and Esther (Gray) Ingebrigtson.
Carl graduated from Westbrook High School in Westbrook, MN in 1954, and from the University of Minnesota in 1959, with a degree in pharmacy.
He worked in pharmacies in Minneapolis until he purchased the former Moran Drug in downtown Delano in 1969, which later became Delano Snyder Drug in a new small shopping center on Highway 12.
After he sold the store, he worked for Cub Food pharmacies in the Twin Cities for a short time, and then became the pharmacy manager for Coborn’s in Delano, retiring in 2007.
Carl loved watching football, listening to classical music, reading, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.
He loved the Lord and was instrumental in forming Light of Christ Lutheran Church in Delano 25 years ago. He served as church council chairman and also served on various church committees.
Carl also formerly served on the Delano School Board and was a former Lions Club member.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mabel (Toby); a son, Carl Michael of Delano; and a daughter, Kathryn (Michael) Hagglund of Elk River; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Neal (Nancy) of Marshall; and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Carl’s life took place Saturday, May 22 at Light of Christ Lutheran Church in Delano with the Revs. Lee Hallstrom and Lynn Seep officiating.
