Virginia Josephine Jarvie, age 81, of Cokato, formerly of Scottsdale, AZ, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010.
She was born July 30, 1929, in Zion, IL, to John N. and Victoria E. Nelson.
Victoria grew up in Detroit, MI, and married Paul W. Jarvie Sept. 26, 1950. This marriage was blessed with the birth of eight children.
In 1968, the Jarvie family moved to Scottsdale, AZ, where Virginia was employed by the Arizona State Board of Medical Examiners.
She retired in 1989, and went on to enjoy traveling with friends and spending time with her family. She was active in her church and enjoyed entertaining guests.
Virginia moved to Cokato in May of 2004.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; and four siblings: Norman, Roland, Gordon, and Lois.
Virginia is survived by her children: Lars (Susan) Jarvie of Mesa, AZ, Paul (Ann) Jarvie of Lincolnshire, IL, Vickie (Wayne) Stonelake of Cokato, Steve (Becky) Jarvie of Holly, MI, Mark (Maria) Jarvie, Peggy (Paul) Grangroth, all of Cokato, Naomi (Rick) Tervo of Chassel, MI, and Dean (Connie) Jarvie of Jackson, WY; 33 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service took place Thursday, Aug. 12 at the Good Shepherd Free Lutheran Church in Cokato. Interment will be at Paradise Memorial Gardens in Scottsdale, AZ at a later date.
Arrangements were with the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato.
