Thomas R. Jenkins, age 65, of Missouri, formerly of Cokato, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, after a courageous and dignified battle with pancreatic cancer.
Tom was born on a farm in Algona, IA in August of 1944. In 1947, he and his family moved to Minnesota.
Tom graduated from Cokato High School in 1962, and farmed.
Since 1971, he was engaged in one or more facets of the tire industry, focusing entirely on tire recycling since 1983.
Tom was well-known for his faith, his passion for the tire business, and his love of family.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cathie; daughter Dacia and husband Ken Garbig; sister Ronda Bridges and husband Austin; brother James Jenkins and wife Nancy; sister-in-law Mary Jenkins; and eight nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Evelyn Jenkins; and brothers Jon Leslie and John Peter.
The funeral service took place Thursday, July 8 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, MO, with burial at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
