Jay Johnson, age 46, of Buffalo, died Wednesday in Kansas City, MO.
A memorial service will take place Tuesday, June 22 at 1 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor Derek van der Merwe officiating. Interment will be at Swedish Mission Cemetery.
Jay was born Aug. 29, 1963, in Minneapolis, the son of Roger and Diane Laraway Johnson.
He graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1982, and later attended Hutchinson Vocational Tech for non-destructive testing.
Jay was joined in holy marriage to Sue Akins Feb. 23, 1991, in Buffalo. God blessed their marriage with three children.
Jay started on the assembly line at the Ford Motor Plant in St. Paul March 8, 1989. After 19 years, he was transferred to the Fort Motor Plant in Kansas City in 2007.
Jay loved the outdoors and had a green thumb. He enjoyed motorcycling and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; children Jessica, age 16, Jordan, age 14 and Jacob, age 5; his mother, Diane Johnson of Hutchinson; his father, Roger Johnson of Coon Rapids; sisters Jerilyn Ring of Sheridan, WY and Jenelle (Jeff) Eckel of East Bethel; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Laraway of Hutchinson; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.
