Marvin William Klugow, age 92, of Howard Lake, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Good Samaritan Home of Howard Lake.
He was born Jan. 28, 1918, in Middleville Township, rural Howard Lake, the son of Otto and Lena (Westphal) Klugow.
A lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, Marvin was baptized March 10, 1918, by Pastor Oetjen, and confirmed in his faith March 10, 1932, by the Rev. C.G. Seltz.
Marvin was married to Eudora Engelman April 24, 1928, at St. James Lutheran Church by Rev. Seltz. Their marriage was blessed with six children.
Marvin and Eudora lived north of Howard Lake, where they farmed and Marvin drove truck for Green Giant and Northrup King.
In 1965, they moved to town, and Marvin went to work for Howard Lake Ready Mix, and later for Moorhead Implement.
Marvin enjoyed fishing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lena Klugow; a daughter, Sandy; great-grandson Joshua Mattson; and sisters and brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Eudora; children Chester (Helen) Klugow, Janice (Jim) Brooks, Gary (Diane) Klugow, Judy Mattson, and Connie (Dan) Laney; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
The Revs. Michael Nirva and Martin Schoenfeld officiated at a memorial service Monday, March 29 at 7 p.m. at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake, with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Nancy Butterfass served as the organist. Interment was Tuesday, March 30 at 2 p.m. at the Howard Lake Cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.
