Toivo William (Bill) Kotila, age 84, of Sauk Rapids, formerly of Cokato, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010.
A lifelong resident of the Cokato area, Bill was a farmer for many years and later operated a landfill/garbage business.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing as a recreation. After moving to Swan Lake, fishing was a daily occasion.
Bill is survived by Alyce Kotila; 11 children: Ellyn Guerre-Hannan (Mike), Larry Kotila (Gloria), Maryln Hunt, Betty Jurgens (Roland), Jerry Kotila, Cheryl Watson (Mike), Darrel Kotila (Kathy), Bonnie Kotila, Brenda Stouffer, Diana Hentges, and Terry Kotila; 28 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Hilja Kotila; sister and brother-in-law George and Sally Mann; and a great-granddaughter, Neveah Stouffer.
The funeral service was Friday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in French Lake, with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, French Lake.
Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato.
