William O. Lipe Obituary – 3/7/2010


William Oral Lipe, age 86, of Minnetonka, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, in Watertown.

He was born July 16, 1923, in Crook County, WY to Oral A. and Virginia (Roberts) Lipe.

William was a World War II naval veteran, and a lifelong member of Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Betty; three sons, Rodney, Bruce, and Greg; and a grandson, Willie Homola.

William is survived by seven sons, Jerry and Janet Lipe of Duluth, Steve and Karen Lipe of Watertown, Bill and Dottie Lipe of Winsted, Roger and Patti Lipe of Yacolt, WA, Warren and Patty Lipe of Waconia, Les Lipe of Minneapolis, and Barry and MaryAnn Lipe of Battle Ground, WA; four daughters, Sally and Ron Lindberg of Amboy, WA, Beth and Steve Homola of Minnetrista, Janice and Bill Homola of Delano, and Joanna and Randy Charlson of Minnetonka; 73 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of Christian friends.

Funeral services took place Thursday, March 11 at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Minnetonka, with interment in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Visitation was Wednesday, March 10 from 6 to 9 p.m.; and continued Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., all at the church.

Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
