Virginia A. Ludenia Obituary – 3/23/2010


Virginia “Ginny” Ann Ludenia, age 80, of Maple Lake, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at her home.

She was born Dec. 23, 1929, in Howard Lake, to James Carl and Emma Marie (Farenbaugh) Sherer.

She graduated from the Cokato High School.

Ginny married George Ludenia June 12, 1949, in Howard Lake. Together, they farmed in Silver Creek Township until George died May 11, 2001.

Ginny loved to cook and bake, especially bread, buns, and caramel rolls. She enjoyed her life on the family farm, and her love of animals was evident. “Farm Grandma” will be truly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Becky), and Charles (Melissa Regouski), all of Maple Lake; grandchildren Kevin (Jessica), Janel, Scott, Wyatt and Morgan; great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Aspyn; and sister Lois Kraines of Santa Monica, CA.

In addition to her husband, George, Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Carl, Ken, Wayne, and Don Sherer; and sister Dorothy LeRoy.

A memorial service took place Friday, March 26 at 1 p.m. at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale, with visitation from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Deacon Ron Freeman officiated at the service, and interment was in the Howard Lake Cemetery.
