Janice Charlotte Major, age 75, of Howard Lake, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
She was born Sept. 4, 1934, in Watertown, to Arthur and Luella Schuman.
Janice was a lifelong farmer. She loved to collect things, especially dolls and chickens. Growing flowers, raising kittens, and attending auctions were things that personified Janice.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Luella Schuman; brother Darwin Schuman, sister and brother-in-law LaDonna and Alan Lange; and stepson Gary Major.
Janice is survived by her husband, Zane; children Marlana Mogensen, Joyce and Mark Mogensen, Lynn and Paul Euerle, Lori and Randy Olson, and Lisa Major; daughter-in-law Beth Major; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Leann and Milan Stender; and brothers and sisters-in-law Orville and Glenora Schuman, Loren and Jean Schuman.
A memorial service took place Wednesday, March 31 at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake with visitation for one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Martin Schoenfeld officiated.
Arrangements were by the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
