Christopher John Mueller, age 40, of Eau Claire, WI, formerly of Springfield, MN, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
He was born June 6, 1969, in Little Falls, the son of John and Patricia (Lux) Mueller. A 1988 graduate of Springfield High School, Chris worked for Salonek Construction in Springfield after graduation.
He then moved to Eau Claire in 1996, and was employed as a carpenter in the Eau Claire area.
An avid athlete, Chris enjoyed golfing, basketball, biking, Rollerblading, and playing with his dog, Jake. He especially enjoyed cheering for the Minnesota Vikings, Wild, and Twins.
Chris loved to cook, hang out with friends, and play with kids. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, and will be dearly missed by his family and the friends he made everywhere he went.
Chris is survived by his fiancée, Tammy Specken of Eau Claire; his father, John “Jack” Mueller of New Ulm; a sister, Macaria Mueller of Madelia; brothers Vince (Carrie) Mueller of Madelia, and Clayton Mueller of New Ulm; nephews Dustin and Casey; niece Nicole; extended family Mike and Marietta Specken, Mike Jr. (Lynn), Bess, Beau, Brooks, Tom, Mindy (Brad) Caleb, and Marissa; his dog, Jake; and his cat, Precious.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia; grandparents; and special friends Vic Froseth and Mike Sliva.
Visitation and a funeral service took place Monday, April 19 in New Ulm, with interment in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
A memorial service also took place Saturday, April 24 at the VFW in Eau Claire.
Honorary casket bearers were Don Racanelli, Jeff Schnobrich, Kevin Bachmann, Rick Wollin, Mike Specken, Tom Specken, Brad Radtke, and the late Mike Sliva.
