Harlan David Mueller, age 72, of Buffalo, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
He was born April 18, 1938, in Plato, to Emil and Erna (Debner) Mueller. Harlan grew up near Watertown, and attended St. Peter’s Parochial School.
Harlan was united in marriage to Joan Shaw May 23, 1959, in Salem, MO. To this union, five children were born.
The couple settled in rural Watertown, and seven years later moved to New Germany in Hollywood Township.
Harlan worked for Mound School District for 25 years. After retiring from there, Harlan and Joan purchased a resort near Emily, MN and operated it for several years. After selling the resort, they retired to Buffalo.
Harlan enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, dancing, and wood working.
He was a member of the Buffalo American Legion and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo.
Harlan is survived by his wife, Joan, of Buffalo; children, Tina (Gary) Tesch of Foley, Tony Mueller of Redlands, CA, Tammy (Tom) Dvorak of Norwood Young America, and Tracy (Sam) Madsen of Buffalo; eight grandchildren, David (Val), Preston (Sara), Elizabeth (Aaron), Cagney (Mike), Sara (Jamie), Payton, Cole, and Ellie; four great-grandchildren, Tyson, Danika, Lexy and Azalea; and siblings Mathilda Heckman, Bernett Jopp, and Charles Mueller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Erna Mueller; a son, Timmy; and a brother, Wilmar.
Funeral services took place Saturday, Dec. 18 at 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo with the Rev. Christian Bode officiating. Visitation preceded the service, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment was at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Watertown.
Casket bearers were David Tesch, Preston Dvorak, Payton Dvorak, Aaron Habeck, Mike Rosneau, and Jamie Burton. Honorary casket bearer was Cole Madsen.
The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo assisted the family with arrangements.
