Catherine A. “Cathy” Olstad, age 68, of Greenfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
Cathy was born Sept. 4, 1942, in Minneapolis, to Daniel and Elizabeth (Tomaszewski) Roach.
She loved spending time with her family, cooking their favorite things and going to the lake, but especially, being “grandma taxi.”
Cathy and her husband of 48 years, Curtis, split their time between the northern woods of Minnesota and sunny Arizona in the winter.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Elizabeth Roach; and a brother, Daniel Roach Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis; children Laura and Jim Sundell, Curtis Jr. and Tammi Olstad, Audra and Brad Etzel, and Anna and Trevor Palmer; nine grandchildren, Brett and Kayla Sundell, Mattia and Hanna Olstad, Megan and Natalie Etzel, and Samantha, Sophia and Stella Palmer; brother Jim and Monica Roach; sister Liz Skok; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Barb Roach, Marian Schroeder, Olive and Tom Pinske, Sharon and Arlen Ellingson, and Janet and Tom Kostick; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano with the Rev. John Gallas officiating.
There was a gathering of family and friends Friday, Oct. 29 from 4 to 8 p .m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano; and continuing Saturday, one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
