Lyle L. Phillips, age 73, of Waconia, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
He was born July 9, 1937, the son of Emery and Mary (Persicke) Phillips.
Lyle had a love of music and would listen to many different artists. He enjoyed decorating his home, always making it picture-perfect. Lyle cherished the time he spent going on vacation and laying in the sun, soaking up the rays.
He was a very dedicated employee of Honeywell, spending 44 years with them.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Mary Phillips; sister Shirley Sjoquist; and brother Emery Phillips Jr.
He is survived by his loving family; daughter and son-in-law Nicole and Dan Smith of Waconia; son and daughter-in-law Jason and Lindsay Phillips of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Jackie Anderson and Robbie Smith; great-grandson Cayden; sisters and brother-in-law Dorothy Skappel of Litchfield, Colleen Engert of Portland, OR, and Joyce and Ted Holm of Shoreview; nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
A memorial service took place Saturday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with the Rev. Helmar Heckel officiating. There was visitation for one hour prior to the service.
