Ardiana Marjorie Ross, age 92, of Cokato, died Friday, March 5, 2010, at the Cokato Manor.
She was born Feb. 22, 1918, at Smith Lake, MN to Ole and Clara (Parin) Nelson. Ardiana grew up in Smith Lake, and attended school in Cokato. She was a lifelong resident of the Cokato and Smith Lake area.
Ardiana married Clarence Anderson July 2, 1936. To this union, a son, Lawrence, was born. They farmed north of Cokato.
Ardiana later married John Ross, July 18, 1943, at Forest Lake. To this union, a daughter, Sharon, was born.
Together, John and Ardiana operated East Side Oil in Cokato, the Log Cabin Café in Dassel, and later the Log Cabin Café in Cokato. Later in life, Ardiana did food demonstration at Lund’s grocery stores and others.
John passed away May 30, 1990.
Ardiana was a member of the Cokato Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence (Rosie) Anderson of Cokato, daughter Sharon (David) Moist of London, AR; stepdaughter Donna Mae Voelcker of Spring Lake, NC; grandchildren Lane, Ann, Dale, David, Kevin, Laramie, Jerrill (Jerry) James, Tracey, Gwen, Jason, and Chad; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, John, Ardiana was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alfred, sisters Genevieve, Addie, and Leola; and a great-grandson, Daryn.
The funeral service was Wednesday, March 10 at 1 p.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cokato, with visitation for two hours prior to the service. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato.
