Theodore R. “Ted” Salonek, Sr., age 77, of Montrose, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at his home in Montrose.
He was born April 6, 1933, to Theodore and Theresa (Lyrek) Salonek in Franklin Township.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Theresa Salonek; a brother, Leo Salonek; nephew Steve Salonek; parents-in-law Herbert and Florence (Snodgrass) Jacobs; sister-in-law Kay Schmidt; and nieces Angie Schmidt Cabrera and Beth Scherber.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jean; children Joel and Tammy Salonek, Theodore J. and Therese Salonek, Suzanne and Jon Yager, Tom and Linda Salonek, and Edward Salonek and fiancée Stephanie; and 13 grandchildren: Erin Sieling and Jared, Kristy Salonek, Lauren Salonek, Teddy Salonek, Reba Salonek, Grace Salonek, Hope Salonek, Eli Salonek, Millie Salonek, Noah Yager, Theodore Salonek, Chad Roberts Jr., and Olivia Salonek.
Ted is further survived by siblings and spouses Paul (Elaine) Salonek, Urban (Rose) Salonek, Anne (George) Lambrecht, and Donna (Don) Bloom; sister-in-law Marge Salonek, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Richard and Margie Jacobs, Patricia and Tony Scherber, Joe and Sheila Jacobs, and Roger Schmidt; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, Minnesota with the Rev. Frank Wampach officiating. Military honors was provided by the Delano American Legion Post 377.
Visitation was Thursday, Oct. 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the church, and continued Friday for one hour prior to the Mass.
Casket bearers were Teddy Salonek, Jared Sieling, Jeff Jacobs, Pat Salonek, Mike Hoernemann, Jon Lambrecht, Jeff Salonek, and Kent Salonek.
Arrangements were by the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
