Carl Eugene Schmitz, age 43, of Cokato, went to be with the Lord suddenly Sunday, June 20, 2010.
He was born July 11, 1966, in Winsted, the 11th child of Vincent and Cecilia Schmitz.
Carl grew up in Howard Lake, graduated from Buffalo High School in 1987, and was employed at Functional Industries for more than 20 years.
Carl enjoyed life, making people smile, clowns, and parades. He touched the lives of many people in different ways.
He leaves behind many family members and friends, including his mother, Cecilia; brothers Mike (Jean), Terry (Georgiann), John (Sharon), Paul (Aggie), Charles (Melanie), Jerome (Jane), Francis (Mary), and George; sisters Mary (Eugene) Amborn, and Ann Sliney and special friend Cindy Boyd; along with many nieces and nephews.
Carl was preceded in death by his father, Vincent; niece Theresa Schmitz; and nephew Chad Schmitz.
In his passing, Carl made a thoughtful donation of sight to the Lions Eye Bank.
A funeral service took place Thursday, June 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Interment was Friday, June 25 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato.
