Beryl W. Schumann Obituary – 6/2/2010


Beryl Wayne Schumann, 65, was called to his eternal rest June 2, 2010.

He was born March 3, 1945 at Howard Lake, MN, the son of Marvin and Bernadette (Engelmann) Schumann.

A life-long member of St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, he was baptized April 1, 1945, by Rev. Theodore Melinat, and confirmed in his faith April 10, 1960 by Rev. G. C. Michael.

On Dec. 7, 1968, Beryl Schumann and Joyce Jacobson were united in marriage at Faith Lutheran Church, Spicer, with the Rev. Rollen Halvorson officiating. God blessed their marriage with three children.

Beryl passed away while at home at the age of 65 years, 2 months, and 30 days.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Schumann; daughter Vicki (Jason) Clouse; sons Wayne Schumann (significant other Stephanie Mattson) and Kyle Schumann; six grandchildren Kasja Schumann, Alexa Schumann, Logan Clouse, Ana Clouse, Dylan Mattson, and Kane Koerner; sister Mardell (Vernon) Lemke; nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends.

A celebration of life was Saturday, June 5 at 2 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake.

Serving as pallbearers were Joel Lemke, Jere Lemke, Dean Lemke, John Ostenso, Gerald Kleene, and Harlan Horsch.

Officiating were Rev. Michael Nirva and Rev. Martin Schoenfeld, with Nancy Butterfass serving as organist. Interment was at the Howard Lake Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.
