Esther Margaret Lorraine Titrud, age 86, of Cokato, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Cokato Manor.
She was born June 18, 1924, at Watertown, to Sidney and Lillie (Nelson) Sandquist. Esther grew up in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School.
She married Evald Woodrow Titrud Sept. 2, 1944, in Watertown. The couple raised their two children on their farm, south of Cokato.
Esther enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, cooking, and reading.
A very active member of the Stockholm Lutheran Church, rural Cokato, Evelyn sang in the choir, served as a member of WELCA, taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school, and participated in Bible study and quilting. She also enjoyed spending time with ladies from the neighborhood at monthly meetings of Birthday Club and Sewing Club.
Esther is survived by her children: Edward Lee (Rebecca) Titrud of Cokato, and Anne (Gregory) Isaackson of Cottonwood; grandchildren Jessica (Stephen) Tesch of Dassel, Heather (Shawn) Orton of Cokato, Sarah (Ryan) Polzin of Cokato, Adam Isaackson of Medway, OH, and Emmy Isaackson of Moorhead; and great-grandchildren Jake, Julia, and Amanda Tesch, and Isaiah and Benjamin Orton.
She is further survived by brothers and sisters Alvin (Eleanor) Sandquist of Granite Falls, Mabel (Marvin) Tonn of Lester Prairie, Gladys Cornell, Glen (Elsie) Sandquist, all of Watertown, Lois (Harold) Severson of Lester Prairie, and Mary Ann (Roger) Kamann of Garrison, and their families.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Lillie Sandquist; and husband Evald Woodrow Titrud.
The funeral service was Thursday, July 15 at 11 a.m. at Stockholm Lutheran Church, south of Cokato, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Wednesday, July 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Stockholm Lutheran Church.
Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato.
