Eveline H. Wendorf Obituary – 5/26/2010


Funeral services celebrating the life of Eveline Helene Wendorf, age 95, of Waconia, and formerly of Lester Prairie, took place Tuesday, June 1 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Eveline died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

The Rev. Eric Nelson officiated at the 11 a.m. funeral service. The organist was Marsha Christenson. Congregational hymns included “Asleep in Jesus,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” and “I’m But a Stranger Here.” Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Visitation took place two hours prior to the services at the church.

Casket bearers were Kris Wendorf, Jeffrey Raduenz, Bill Lanie, Mark Wendorf, Barry Wendorf, and Daryl Wendorf.

Eveline was born Feb. 24, 1915, in Carver County, the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Bachmann) Kroells. She was baptized March 21, 1915, in Young America, and confirmed into the faith May 20, 1928, in Lester Prairie.

Eveline was united in marriage to Elroy Wendorf June 6, 1934, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Lester Prairie. The couple made their home on a farm in New Germany until 1968, when they moved into Lester Prairie.

In addition to being a loving homemaker and mother, Eveline enjoyed gardening, old time music, and dancing, and especially loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elroy; her son, Roger; her son-in-law, Erland Raduenz; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Wendorf; and siblings Hilda Dose, Melvin Kroells, and Marcella Jans.

Eveline is survived by her children, Earl Wendorf (Helen) of New Germany, Merlin Wendorf (Eva) of North Lauderdale, FL, Virgil Wendorf (Majel) of New Germany, Joyce Lanie (Ed) of Anoka, Lois Raduenz of Lester Prairie, and Allen Wendorf (Laura) of Watertown; and grandchildren Amy Dorm (Steven) of West Des Moines, IA, Lisa Angel (Roger) of Rockford, IL, Kris Wendorf (Maria) of Bloomington, Mark Wendorf (Anita) of Hurst, TX, David Wendorf (Lisa) of North Lauderdale, FL, Daryl Wendorf (Greta) of Margate, FL, Jacob Wendorf of North Lauderdale, FL, Gregory Wendorf of North Lauderdale, FL, Brett Wendorf (Paula) of Camas, WA, Joy Hodowanic (Robert) of Chaska, Barry Wendorf (Michelle) of Zimmerman, Bill Lanie (Katie) of Oak Grove, Kimberly Reed (Charles) of Glencoe, Jeffrey Raduenz (Patricia) of Prior Lake, and Janet Johnson (Michael) of North St. Paul.

She is further survived by 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Ella Zuehl of Winsted; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
