Donald Henry Yager, age 75, of Loretto, formerly of Howard Lake, died peacefully while surrounded by his family Friday, April 16, 2010, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
Don was born March 26, 1935, in Howard Lake, to Fred and Lydia Yager.
Don and his wife, Lorelie made their home in Loretto for the past 46 years. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 30, 2010.
Don was a meat cutter by trade. He enjoyed being outdoors, watching birds, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was blessed with a beautiful singing voice that will be missed at weekly Mass, as well as any special occasion.
Don enjoyed the company of his family and friends, and the conversations they shared were filled with insight, discernment, and humor.
His love of family was only surpassed by his love of the Lord. He was a fine, Christian gentleman and will be deeply missed by all those he has touched throughout the years.
Don is survived by his wife, Lorelie; children Todd (Patti), Jon (Suzanne), and Nichole (Joe) Vogel; grandchildren Catherine, Candice, Noah, Dominic, Gabriel and Tessa; brother Arwood “Woody” (Helen) Yager of Winsted; sisters-in-law Marcella Yager and Margaret Yager Balboul; and many additional loving family members.
