Lillian Gladys Anderson, age 94, of French Lake, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
She was born May 30, 1916, in French Lake, to Erick and Marrianna Lappi. Lillian went to French Lake School.
She worked in Minneapolis for several years, and also at Fabri-Tec in Cokato.
Lillian married Goodwin Anderson Feb. 13, 1943. They farmed in French Lake Township at Happy Corner, living at their farm until they moved to St. Cloud in 1992.
A homemaker, Lillian loved to cook and bake, garden, and spend time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Larry Anderson and daughter-in-law Jumras; two grandchildren, Derek Anderson and Heather Anderson; great-grandson Bentley Anderson, all of St. Cloud; sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 65 years, Goodwin, in 2007; her parents; sisters Adella, Helen, and Mae Lappi, Julia Bogema, Olive Rantanen, Elma Seklund, and Martha Walberg; and two brothers, Leonard Lappi and twin brother Louis Lappi.
A memorial service took place Thursday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Free Lutheran Church in Cokato, with the Rev. Lyndon Korhonen officiating. Music was provided by Debra Olson and Lynda Korhonen. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato.
