Lorraine A. Bauernschmitt, age 79, of Maple Plain, formerly of Waconia, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the Golden LivingCenter in Delano.
She was born March 7, 1932, in Waconia, the daughter of Joseph and Mabel (Hudlow) Bauernschmitt. Lorraine was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia.
She enjoyed sewing and embroidering in her spare time, and loved listening to old tyme music and playing bingo.
Over the years, Lorraine worked at Tonka Toys and at Haven Home in Maple Plain in the housekeeping department.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mabel Bauernschmitt; sisters and brothers-in-law Dorothy and Willard Krause, Shirley Bauernschmitt, and Richard Krotzer; brothers Ralph, Hillard, and Doug Bauernschmitt; and a niece, Emily Krotzer.
She is survived by her loving family: brother Stanford Bauernschmitt of Maple Plain; sister Audrey Krotzer of Maple Plain; brother and sister-in-law Wilbert and Joan Bauernschmitt of Montrose; nieces and nephews Linda and Richie Ordorff, Barbara Gabrelcik, Ellen Krause, Jackie and Charles Weishaar, Jeffrey and Sarah Krotzer, Rodney Krotzer, Brady Kreger, Jill and John Heinbuch, Dawn and Kevin Benshoff, Wayne and Katie Bauernschmitt, and Stacy and Ron Bray; cousin Eugenia Schmitt of Waconia; great nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Sunday, May 15 beginning at 4 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia, followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m. with Father Martin Shallbetter officiating. Interment was at Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain.
Casket bearers were Jeff Krotzer, Rod Krotzer, Charles Weishaar, Brady Kreger, Cory Krotzer Sr., and Wayne Bauernschmitt.
