Felix Henry Bickman, age 93, of Lester Prairie, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia.
He was born Dec. 18, 1917, in Victor Township, Wright County, the son of Frank and Frances Zimmerman Bickman.
Felix honorably served his country in the US Army during World War II.
He was joined in holy marriage with Sophie V. Jagodzinski April 29, 1944, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Silver Lake. God blessed their marriage with three children.
Felix and Sophie engaged in dairy farming near Lester Prairie for many years. Felix was also employed as a welder for 27 years at Sterner Lighting.
He was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Felix also belonged to American Legion Post 407 in Winsted, and the Knights of Columbus Council 8253.
Felix is survived by a daughter, Veronica “Roni” (John) Valen; a son, Frank Bickman; grandchildren Eric (Rhonda) Valen, Lisa (Jeff) Bayerl, Melissa Bickman and special friend Bryan Hanrahan, Samantha Bickman and special friend Tyler Anderson; and great-grandchildren Tristan Arioso, Aaron Valen, Jason Valen, Allizaya Maslonkowski, and Grace Bayerl.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sophie, Jan. 14, 2006; a son, Michael Bickman, Jan. 12, 2011; a grandson, Ben; and by infant twin brothers
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, March 3 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted with Father Tony Hesse as the celebrant. Interment with military rites followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation was Thursday, March 3 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.
Casket bearers were Eric Valen, Donnie Bickman, Tristan Arioso, Melissa Bickman, Samantha Bickman, and Lisa Bayerl.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
