Germain H. Buesgens, age 87, of Waconia, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia.
He was born Jan. 6, 1924, in Young America, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Schug) Buesgens. Germain was baptized and confirmed at Ascension Catholic Church in Norwood.
He was united in marriage to Annie V. Rademacher Nov. 20, 1945, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia by Father Albert Heer.
Germain was a loving husband, grandpa, and great grandpa. He loved to go fishing, and being at the cabin; and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Margaret (Schug) Buesgens; sisters Ethel Meuffels and Marion Ebert; and brothers Victor and Wilbert Buesgens.
Germain is survived by his loving family: wife Annie; children and spouses Roger and Bonnie Buesgens of Waconia, Dianne and William Kopp of Eau Claire, WI, Dennis and Debra Buesgens of Waconia, Nancy and Bill Lachermeier of Winsted, Mike and Crystal Buesgens of Mayer, Jerry and Laurie Buesgens of Waconia, Roseanne and Brian Scott of Winthrop, Richard Buesgens of Peachtree City, GA, and Germain Jr. and Brenda Buesgens of Waconia; grandchildren Chad and Nikka Buesgens, Cindy and Jay Schwindt, Sarah and Jeff Gothmann, Jessica and Kreg Burau, Chris and Janelle Kopp, Michael and Anita Kopp, Lisa and Chad Burr, Belinda and Jeremy Rosckes, Brian and Amanda Buesgens, David and Nancie Lachermeier, Philip and Jen Lachermeier, Angie Lachermeier and Eric Basinski, Amy Lachermeier and fiancee Dan Graeber, Courtney Buesgens, Kari Buesgens, Whitney Buesgens, Josh Scott and Tiffany, Amanda and Ricky Duncan, Melissa and Daniel Brigden, Mikaela Buesgens, Cameron Buesgens, Dillion Buesgens, Jared Buesgens; and 27 great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by sisters Alice Rademacher of Waconia, and Joyce Wherley of Chaska; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Norbert and Laura Rademacher of Waconia, Mary Jane Laumann of Cologne, Arlene Engelen of Waconia, Agnes and Ed Kohman of Faribault, John and Barb Rademacher of Hill City, Marvin and JoAnn Rademacher of Waconia, Tom and Annie Rademacher of Cologne, and Ron and Rita Rademacher of Waconia; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia with visitation two hours prior to the Mass at the church. Father Lawrence Blake was celebrant of the Mass. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Chad Buesgens, Chris Kopp, Brian Buesgens, David Lachermeier, Courtney Buesgens, Josh Scott, and Jared Buesgens.
