Lloyd J. Dalbec, age 95, of Montrose, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at the Legacy of Delano.
He was born Oct. 9, 1916, on the family farm in Woodland Township, to William and Minnie (Weege) Dalbec.
Lloyd was a lifelong farmer in Woodland Township.
He was united in marriage to Carola L. Matter Sept. 29, 1938.
A good, Christian man, Lloyd was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly.
He liked to hunt and fish and spend time outdoors.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Carola in 1979.
He is survived by his children, Harlan (Sandra), Diane (George) Schlechter, JoAnn (Duane) Kassulker, and Darryl (Janet); 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Leona (Ambrose) Yantes; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Clem and Jean Matter, Helen Matter, Eva Matter, and Lorraine Dixon.
Mass of Christian Burial will took place Thursday, Oct. 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Church of St. Mary in Waverly, followed by interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Parish Center, and continued Thursday one hour prior to the Mass.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
