Beatrice T. Danielson, 85

Beatrice T. Danielson, age 85, of Waconia, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the Waconia Good Samaritan Center in Waconia.

She was born Sept. 26, 1925, in Day County, SD, the daughter of Mike and Anna (Gangl) Opitz.

Beatrice was united in marriage to Marvin O. Danielson Oct. 7, 1950, at the Basilica of St. Mary.

She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Some of Beatrice’s hobbies included crocheting, garage sales, going shopping and then returning the items she purchased, sewing, listening to old tyme music and watching people dance, and shopping for antiques.

She worked at Penny Wise at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mound, and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; sons Kevin Danielson and Gary Danielson; two great-granddaughters, Faith and Hope Danielson; parents Mike and Anna Opitz; her sister, Sister Hermina Opitz; and brothers and sister-in-law Albinus and Lorraine Opitz, Frances Opitz.

She is survived by her loving family; daughters Janice Taylor of Chanhassen, Marla (Rick) Reichow of New Prague, and Rita (Bob) Lund of Delano; daughter-in-law Linda Danielson of Delano; grandchildren Shawn and Rebecca Danielson, Kevin and Megan Danielson, Katie Danielson and fiancé Travis Miller, Jennifer Taylor, Mark Taylor, Joe Taylor and fiancée Leah Saugen, Derick Reichow, Erin and Andy Wondra, Patrick Reichow, Robin and Nelson Schmidt, Rachel and Jordan Wagner, and Robert Lund; and great-grandchildren Sophia, Belle, Mason, Audrey, Nelson Jr., Harrison, Hadley, Gabriel, Nora, Ruby, Grace, Kellen, and Kade.

Beatrice is further survived by sisters and brothers-in-law Doloris and Art Turner of California, and Clara and Gary Inman of Otsego; brothers and sisters-in-law Leander and Irma Opitz of South Dakota, and Firmus and Martha Opitz of Hopkins; sisters-in-law Vi Murphy and husband Tom of Ellsworth, WI, and Shirley Danielson of Bellvue; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, May 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia with visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church. Father Lawrence Blake was celebrant of the Mass. Interment was at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Cemetery in Mound.

Beatrice’s grandchildren were her casket bearers.
