Lois L. DeJong, age 71, of Maple Grove, loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born Aug. 15, 1940, in Loretto, the daughter of Charles and Gertrude Harff Schnappauf.
Lois married Harry DeJong in 1963. The couple was blessed with two sons, Michael (Terri Swanson), and Tim ( David Sandum).
Lois worked for Control Data, which later became Seagate, for 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; parents; brothers Harold Schnappauf and LuVerne Schnappauf; and sisters Margaret Smith, Muriel Peterson, Lorraine Kessell, and Eileen Schnappauf.
In addition to her sons, Lois is survived by her sisters, Harriet Hanson, Louise Kilgore, and Carol Hayes (Charles); granddaughter Krista Swanson; great-grandson Brandon Swanson; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services took place Monday, Aug. 29 at 11 a.m. at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday, Aug. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield; and continued Monday for one hour prior to the funeral service.
Arrangements were by the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
