Bryce L. Erickson, age 43, of Weatherford, TX, formerly of Dassel, died Friday, March 18, 2011, in Weatherford.
He was born June 19, 1967, in Litchfield, to Curtis and Barbara Erickson. Bryce was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church, Litchfield; and confirmed at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel.
He attended Dassel Elementary School, and graduated from Dassel-Cokato High School in 1985. Bryce went on to graduate from Hutchinson Community College in 1986. He completed a 21st Century Genetic AI course and universal milking school in 1985.
Bryce’s hobbies included cooking, gardening, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, canoeing, motorcycling, reading, and working with cattle.
He is survived by the love of his life, his daughter, Darian Erickson; parents Curtis and Barbara Erickson of Palisade, MN; sisters Lynn (John) Sowders of Springtown, TX, Nicole (Brian) Smith of Palisade, and Chantell (Matt) Erickson of Colorado Springs, CO; a brother, Todd (Anne) Erickson of Columbus, OH; nieces and nephews Sarah Sowders-Neeley, Mariah Sowders, Joseph Sowders, Geoffrey Sowders, Amisty Smith, Amira Smith, Race Smith, Alesha Bergman, Bethany Bowen, Isaac Bowen, Hannah Erickson, and Elijah Erickson; several cousins, aunts, and uncles; and many close friends, especially Ryan Hauser and Mark Lenertz.
Bryce was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Audrey Anderson, and Vernon and Helmi Erickson; and a cousin, Chad Erickson.
A memorial service took place March 21 in Springtown, TX at Hope Lutheran Church. In addition, a Celebration of Life service took place April 2 at Grace Lutheran Church, rural Kingston, MN, with inurnment in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery.
