LuVerne Johanna Erickson, age 92, of Buffalo, passed away peacefully after visiting with her granddaughters Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at Parkview Care Center in Buffalo.
She was born Oct. 3, 1919, in Buffalo, to Julius and Freda (Klatt) Krause.
LuVerne attended St. Cloud State University, where she earned her master’s degree in teaching. Her last position before retirement was as an elementary principal for Delano Public Schools.
LuVerne enjoyed gardening, taking a particular interest in flowers; fishing up north, needlework, quilting, and watching the birds.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Irene Becker, and Eloise Denney; and son Donald Erickson.
LuVerne is survived by her aunt, Elsie Mutterer; sister Audrey Mainquist; daughter-in-law Diane Erickson; granddaughters Denys (Tyge) Zucker, and Darla (Todd) Heikes; and great-grandchildren Bryan and Zachary Zucker, and Darci and Trista Heikes.
Funeral services took place Tuesday, Dec. 13 at noon at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m., and continuing until the time of the service at the church. Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo.
