Jacob Calvin Harris, age 1 year and 23 days, of Glencoe, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at the Glencoe Regional Health Services.
Jacob was born Aug. 30, 2010, the son of Cody and Amanda (Thaemert) Harris. He was baptized at Ascension Catholic Church in Norwood by Father Martin Shallbetter.
Jacob came into this life with abundant energy and was the most pleasant and gentle little boy. He would eat anything, and had the nicknames Jakey, J.J., and Little Pork Chop. Jacob brought a smile to everyone, especially his big brother, Shawn.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Edward and Iola Thaemert, and Sandy Gallup.
Jacob will be dearly missed by his loving family: parents Amanda and Cody Harris of Glencoe; brother Shawn Harris; grandparents Mary Sue and Calvin Thaemert of Cologne, and Del and Ken Gallup of Hamburg; great-grandparents Daniel and Sue Hilgers of Belle Plaine, Mary Ann Granum of Glencoe, Orville Granum of Sioux Falls, SD, and William Gallup of Bloomington; aunts and uncles Shari and Brandon Panning of Norwood Young America, Julie Thaemert of Cologne, Helene Harris of Sioux Falls, SD, Shannon Harris of Mankato, Dusty and Amanda Harris of Glencoe; special cousins Katelyn and Aubrey; as well as other relatives and friends.
Casket bearers were Dusty Harris, Brandon Panning, Eric Hedin, and Jim Schroepfer.
Mass of the Angels took place Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. Father Martin Shallbetter was the celebrant of the Mass. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
