Lillie Ann Hass, age 74, of Winsted, formerly of Howard Lake, died Wednesday, Dec 21, 2011, at St. May’s Care Center in Winsted.
She was born March 3, 1937, in Shawano, WI, to Elmer and Lillie (Hoppe) Hoffman. She grew up in Shawano, and graduated from high school there.
Lillie was united in marriage to Arthur Fredrick Hass July 3, 1955, at Elias Lutheran Church of Shawano. This marriage was blessed with four children.
Lillie worked at several things during her life: for a time, she owned the Little Chef Restaurant in Gresham, WI; she owned a bar in Wisconsin; and cooked at the Happy Corners German restaurant in Gresham. Most recently, she was a seamstress at Edco in Winsted.
Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, bird watching, and caring for her plants.
In 1997, Arthur and Lillie made their home in Howard Lake.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Hass of Tigerton WI, Duane Hass of Montrose, Denise Oberpriller of Howard Lake, and Todd Hass of Kerrville, TX; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Velda and Dawn; and a brother, Elmer Jr.
A memorial service took place Monday, Dec. 26 at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake, with interment at Red Springs Cemetery in Wisconsin.
