Dorothy Grace Jerabek, age 91, of Lester Prairie, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted. Funeral services were 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Christ Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment in the First Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Glencoe.
The Rev. Katherine Rood officiated and the organist was Vicky Harris.
Congregational hymns for the service were: “Rock Of Ages,” “Nearer My God To Thee,” “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”
Casket bearers were: Alan Jerabek, Susan Ide, Richard Brecht, Raymond Brecht Jr., Lowell Brecht, and Bernard Brecht.
Dorothy Grace Jerabek was born May 15, 1920, in Strandquist, MN. She was the daughter of Theodore and Rose (Jarvis) Brecht. Dorothy was baptized and confirmed in her faith May 14, 1937, by the Rev. Alfred Streufert at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
Dorothy attended country school and helped her parents on the farm.
On October 11, 1941, Dorothy was united in marriage to Jerry Jerabek in St. Paul. This marriage was blessed with two children, Alan and Susan. Dorothy and Jerry lived many different places before settling in Lester Prairie. They shared over 69 years of marriage.
Dorothy was a loving mother and homemaker. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening and then canning the wonderful items she had grown. She was also a fantastic seamstress. Dorothy especially cherished the time spent with family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Jerry Jerabek of Lester Prairie; children, Alan Jerabek and his wife, Sandra, of Hutchinson; Susan Ide and her husband, Wallace, of Lester Prairie; grandchildren, Scott Jerabek and his wife, Sally, of Belle Plaine, Sherry Ekstrom and her husband, Daryl, of Chaska, Stacey Harpel of Glencoe, Shannon Jerabek and his wife, Michelle, of Brownton; Tammy Mathews and her husband, Kevin, of Glencoe; Todd Ide and his wife, Jennifer, of Mapleton; Tricia Gueningsman and her husband, Andy, of Winsted, along with 14 great grandchildren.
She is further survived by sisters-in-Law, Ellen Brecht of Biscay; Stella Jane Rauch of Hutchinson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Rose Brecht; siblings, Rose, Violet, Blanch, Raymond and Oliver.
