Marguerite (Marge) Elizabeth Olson Johnson, age 92, of Delano, formerly of Crookston, passed peacefully Easter Sunday morning, April 24, 2011.
A memorial service will take place at Saturday, May 14, at 1 p.m. at Delano United Methodist Church with the Rev. Matt Sipe officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Crookston, at a later date.

Marguerite was born May 30, 1918, in New Richmond, WI, to Louis J. and Blenda (Carlstrom) Olson; spending all of her life in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
After high school and teacher’s training, she taught school in rural Wisconsin until her marriage to Elroy Johnson, of Crookston, in 1939. They met at their respective aunt and uncle’s lake cottage on Lake Melissa, near Detroit Lakes. Roy, Marge, and their children, grandchildren, friends, and extended family members experienced many special “cottage” memories over the next 50 years.
Marguerite was a beloved “Sis,” wife, mother, “Sweet Gramma,” and “Great Mama.”
She was a respected leader in many United Methodist Church associations, an active civic volunteer, and a long-time member of the Minnesota/Polk County Historical Society.
After moving to Delano in 2002, Marge continued her love of church and community work.
She loved travel, music, reading, baking, and walking, and cherished her times with her family and friends. Her sweet nature and sense of humor will always be cherished.
Marge is survived by her daughters, Kay E. Dohm (Andres) of Lucero, Arroyo Grande, CA, and Susan L. Veaderko of Delano; her son, Brian E. (Yvonne) Johnson of Fargo, ND; six grandchildren, Andrew (Karen), Matthew (Joseph Huber) and Peter (Joshua Morris) Dohm, Elizabeth (Ralph) Titus, Thomas and Steven Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Morgan Downs (Titus) and Cody Dohm; her sisters, Helen (John) Slaughter of St. Paul, and Mary King of El Paso, TX; sister-in-law Eleanor Johnson of Crookston; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Alice; her husband of 55 years, Roy; and brother-in-law, R. Tel King.
