Jean L. Johnson, age 97, of Delano, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011.
Jean was a 50-year resident of Delano, where he was involved in many civic organizations, including serving as the city clerk and chairman of the regional and local power commission; as a member of the Delano School Board, and as a member of the Historical Society.
A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Jean will be dearly missed by everyone whose life he touched.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; sister Elise; and brother Henry, Milton, and Ralph.
Jean is survived by his children, Pamela (Michael) McDonald, Jean Jr. “Chip” (Linda) Johnson; grandchildren Ryan, Daniel (Nicole), Grant (Catherine), Justin, Andrea, Becky (Clay) and Chris; great-grandchildren Aubrey, Brynn, Ethan, and Addison.
A memorial Mass took place Saturday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady of the Lake in Mound, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment was at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Delano.
Arrangements were handled by Washburn-McReavy Strobeck Johnson Funeral Chapel.
