Connie F. Kappel Sather, age 44, of Minneapolis, formerly of Winsted, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011.
She was born July 26, 1967, in Winsted, the daughter of Francis T. and Carol A. Pothen Kappel.
Connie graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1985.
She was employed as a musician and belonged to The National Music Educators Foundation and Minnesota Music Awards.
Connie was known for having a big heart.
She is survived by her loving parents, Francis and Carol Kappel of Winsted; brothers Daniel (Audrey) Kappel of St. Michael, and Dennis Steele of Winsted; a sister, Terre (David) Petersen of Lonsdale; and eight nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Blanche Pothen, and Alfred and Isabella Kappel.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted with Father Tony Hesse as the celebrant. Special music was provided by Mike Fasching as the organist, and vocalist Joey Holmers. Interment was at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation was Thursday, Oct. 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a rosary recited at 4 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Casket bearers were Tim Bradley, Jeff Kappel, Lanny Lachermeier, Joel Hirsch, Louie Stifter, and Micki Jagodzinski.
